Hale Kula Elementary School Invites you to celebrate...

The Hour of Code

When:  5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2015

Where:  Cafeteria, F4 and behind I & F buildings

What:  A fun evening of playful exploration and discovery for parents & school age kids! 

(Due to the nature of the stations, this event is for school age children only)

  • To introduce students and parents to kid-friendly computer programming

  • To provide families with coding resources

  • To have fun learning alongside your child

Play video games in the Hawaii Game Truck!

  • Play video games and compete in the video game  tournament!  Visit their website: http://www.hawaiigametruck.com/

  • $5 to play in the tournament & compete against your friends.  $3 play inside the truck.

Meet Mason & see the games he’s created for his Scratch Studio

  • Mason is a 5th grader in Mrs. Roller’s class.  He’s designed many games for us to play & remix in his Scratch Studio.

Hear how the Cyborg Eagles, Hale Kula’s Robotics Team, uses coding in VEX IQ Robotics!

Code Angry Birds, Frozen & Star Wars via Code.org

  • See what Hale Kula students have been coding during the Hour of Code at Hale Kula.  Code.org uses blockly code to teach students the initial concepts of coding.

Code Dash & Dot robots through an obstacle course

  • Whimsical robots Dash & Dot flash lights, beep & roll wherever you tell them to go.                                          

Make music with the Makey-Makey

  • Discover how simple coding in Scratch can create music using the Makey-Makey.
